Hey, you remember when I saw BNL tonite and it was like the best show ever? And we met the band after the show except Jim b/c we had to get Ewan so Les could go to bed?

Yeah, that was cool.

More tomorrow. Me go sleepy sleepy now.

Hey, so how bout I'm only a half hour late? That's not bad at all...

Matt = sleepy. Only got 5 hours. Ugh.

Meeting Cancellation Update!

Since I got here a half hour late, I missed my monthly communications meeting for the plant. So I cancelled it myself! Take that, K103! I have an optional 'lunch and learn' at 11:30 that I'm not sure if I'm going to go to yet, so we'll see...

This has been the Meeting Cancellation Update for Monday, November 3, 2003.

Good lord it's November alraedy. Where have I been?

I am still in shock over the awesome goodness that was last nite.

Ok, here's the set list as written on my scrap paper:

Testing 1,2,3
Maybe Katie
Riff about the Murat and how it's the freakiest place to play in the country
Celebrity
Box Set
Next Time
Unfinished
Aluminum
Riff about Ed playing Splinter Cell instead of enjoying the nice weather-- best riff of the show. It broke out into this song about Steve being an undercover, homosexual secret agent with Jim yelling 'live the life!' in the background. Hilarious.
Baby Seat
Brief riff about Tiny being dressed up like God and how he smites people with the help of his trusty tambourine.
Yes!Yes!!Yes!!!
Questions-- four questions, the shit question alarm only went off once when this chick asked the boxers or briefs question. There was one good question about downloading music, one crap question about monkeys vs. chimpanzees, and the other one was about... um... dammit. I dont' remember, but it was a good question. Oh, yeah, superstitions and pre-show rituals. Steve said they skinned cats and drank their blood.
Born Human
War on Drugs
Upside Down

BREAK

Roadrunner
Yoko Ono
For You
One Week
Another Postcard
Break Your Heart
Take it Outside
Second Best
You Will Be Waiting
Old Apartment
Shopping

first encore
Have You Seen My Love?
Brian Wilson

second encore
Pinch Me

third encore
Call and Answer

Just a spectacular show. Chris and I were so worried b/c they skipped over A and Call me Calmly in the Land of Cleve the nite before, so we were sure we were gonna get those instead of You Will Be Waiting and Break Your Heart, but they were nice to us and still played them. Hadn't heard You Will Be Waiting live since the first time we saw them in 96.

Certainly the best show we've been to out of the seven. Put them in order, you ask? Well sure:

11/02/03 Murat Theatre, Indianapolis-IN
05/19/97 Murat Egyptian Room, Indianapolis-IN
05/28/96 Nautica Stage, Cleveland-OH
12/04/00 Conseco Fieldhouse, Indianapolis-IN
09/28/00 Firstar Center, Cincinnati-OH
07/21/97 Light Tent, Pittsburgh-PA
12/13/01 Pepsi Coliseum, Indianapolis-IN
07/18/01 Verizon Wireless Music Center, Noblesville-IN

Huh. So this was the 8th time. Who knew?

There had to have been another time between 97 and 00 tho. That's way too long a time for us to have gone w/o seeing them. Maybe I missed one... another one in Cleveland maybe? I thought we saw them twice there, but maybe we didn't... If you think we went to another one, feel free to look, but I don't think we did...

Anyway, so we were 4th row stage Steve, which Heather was not all about, but she could see Ed just fine, so it was cool. Chris was in the second row stage Ed, and he was nice enough to switch seats with us during intermission so Heather could get her Ed fix.

We then waited after the show and got to see everyone except Jim because he's notoriously later than everyone else and we had to get back to get the boy from Nate and Les b/c they both had to work early today. Chris took a pic of Jim by himself so we could put ourselves in the pic with Photoshop so we can have all 5 guys, plus I left my ETE CD case with Chris so I could have all of BNL's autographs on it rather than just the four like my Maroon CD. Also got one of Steve's guitar picks :D

Just a wonderful time. Great weekend. Hope everyone else's was as good.

Got my interview on campus tomorrow. Let's hope I nail it.

This entry is long enough as it is so I'm gonna leave it at that. Have a great Monday, everyone.

Meeting Cancellation Update!

Yeah... I didn't go to that lunch and learn. Screw it. I'd just fall asleep anyway. It was about approving e-learning, and I think I would've had a better time pulling out my arm hairs one at a time or something. Crap.

This has been the Meeting Cancellation Update. Please stay tuned to this journal for further updates!

I'm going to try my best to stay here until 5. I need the overtime. Can't pass up $35 an hour. I might fall asleep at my terminal, but at least I'll be here, dammit!

::rubs eyes::

I've just been correcting a sixty-one-page OJT manual for the last two hours. What a fun way to spend one's afternoon.

At least I now know a lot about flow valves...

I am a posting fool today.

Shut up. I can hear you from here.

Not unlike what's in Aliya's journal, I am also timing things, just without the need to puke.

It's currently 4:08. I have to be here until 5:00. That's 52 minutes.

Everything to Everyone is 52 minutes.

::puts in cd::

And my boss just left... maybe I only have to be here for 42 minutes...

::heads back to dwc::
::comes out of the command center::

What a wild, strange IM trip it's been this evening...

Dream not of today, my friends.
