We'll see how much of an update I can get out of the 50 mins b/w now and when my meeting starts at 9.
I don't think it'll be cancelled, but who knows...
Not too many people here in the dw this week. All the contractors are b/c we don't get vacation, but most of the full-timers are gone. I guess they literally take vacation from today until New Year's... well, most of them do. Crazy.
Anyway, it's snowing outside. Not a lot, but it was a little flurry-y out there. Nothing this old school Clevelander can't handle. It's just those Indy 500 hoosier people I worry about.
I always hated teaching on this day-- the first day of snow. The kids always freaked out and ran to the window and I always had to say, 'Yes, kids, that's snow. That's what happens to water when it gets cold. Sit down.' And then they'd all be like, 'But Hofmann, it's snow, man. Can we go outside?' 'No. It'll be there at 2:30. Sit down.' I'm so glad I'm not teaching anymore.
Anyway, so the Old Oaken Bucket stayed at Purdue for another year, thank goodness. We barely made it out of there with our dignity, so we'll take it. Doesn't have to be pretty... just have to win, and we did. Go Boilers.
Got the extended edition of The Two Towers on Saturday. Four discs of Lord of the Rings goodness. Forty-five minutes of extended footage. Good times. Had a LOTR marathon while putting up Christmas stuff, so from 12-8 we watched FOTR and TTT. So festive.
Have to get new lites for the tree today. Those things don't make it through the summer, I swear. I don't know what it is. They just don't. And I have to make sure they work with all my Star Wars and Star Trek lite and motion ornaments. Nothing says Christmas more than my Death Star lite and sound Christmas ornament. I could see it attacking the other ornaments in the middle of the nite a la Toy Story. Good thing I have an X-Wing, Naboo fighter, and the Enterprises to kick its ass. Whoa. Crossovers...
Wow, that was real geeky right there, sorry.
Ok, that's it. Made it out with time to spare. Hope everyone has a great day. I'm sure I'll talk to you later.
