Big Freakin Office. I like it. Michelle's suggestion. Works for me.
Things went pretty well yesterday. Nothing too out of the ordinary because it was mostly paperwork and getting situated and all that. But things are going well so far. At least the clock moves a little faster here than in the dwc. Didn't even realize it was 5:00 when I looked at my watch yesterday. That bodes well for me and my sanity for the next 13 months.
It's so great to be back. Mickey and Aliya stopped by yesterday to say hi, and it already feels like things are just about back to normal :)
My only complaint so far is that they have the wrong peanut butter crackers here. They've got the Peter Pan, and I like the ones with that little log cabin on the front. More peanut butter, less salt. Nit picky, but true.
That and there are a lot of meetings in here. It's more that my office is in a conference room rather than it's a big office. And there's really only like 1 or 2 meetings in here a day, but it's with a lot of people sometimes, and the cube isn't exactly soundproof. Not a biggie. As Josi just said:
i can hear all the people in BRNG in offices w/no windows gnashing their teeth from here
And she's right. I was one of those people. I used to always say that if I ever did come back all I wanted was an office with a window. It's baby steps-- when I was an undergrad all I wanted was an A permit and a gold name tag. Got that when I came back last time. Then all I wanted when I was back last time was a window and Purdue business cards. Got the window and the cards are on order. I don't know what I want next time ;)
I'm seriously going to bed at like 10 tonite. I can't deal with the lack of sleep. Ok, maybe 11. Alright before 11:30. I just can't keep going to bed at midnite. I will be so glad when we move up here so the alarm can go off at 6:30 rather than 5:45. Ugh. I just feel bad going to bed b/c Heather has to stay up with the boy, and when he's fussy and stuff like last nite I feel worse. It's not like there's anything more I could do, but I still feel bad.
I found three typed pages of apartments and houses and duplexes to look at for this weekend. We're gonna have to start pretty damn early. I found a place with free internet, workout facility, and a bloody tanning bed for 500 a month with a 99 deposit. Must be like 20 miles from here or something. Has to be a hitch... Suffice it to say, though, gonna be a long Saturday. Might have to go with Sunday too. Scary.
Anyone watch Charlie Brown Christmas last nite? Love that. What the hell was the thing on after it? That was crap. Watched the Celebrity Poker and the Queers on Bravo after that while trying to figure out what the boy's issues were last nite. It's ok, Ewan, there've been a few times in my life when I knew puking would make me feel better too ;)
Ok, I'm gg get some stuff done. I'll talk to y'all later. Have a good one!
