mmm... NPR streaming on my desktop... ::drools::

I'm so old sometimes. This is one of those times. I'm addicted to NPR. I listen to it on the drive home every day now. It's just good stuff.

The drive up this morning was a whole lotta not fun. Drove 45 on the highway, slid around a lot. Just great.

And a special note to all of you with SUVs:

YOU ARE NOT IMMORTAL!

Having four-wheel drive does not mean that you can't slide all over the damn place like the rest of us. If you're driving up my ass and I brake, you're still gonna run into me! BACK OFF!

I followed some jerkoff in a Cherokee who thought that he could still drive like the Indy 500 moved to CR Rd. 350, and he slid and spun out every time he stopped and started, and he drove into the other lane when he finally turned off the road.

And some dumbass three cars in front of me decided that he didn't need to turn on his signal when he turned to go down a side street, so I had to drive into the shoulder as to not hit the truck in front of me while he went in the other direction. I hate people sometimes.

I was gonna bitch some more about other stuff, but NPR has mellowed me out, so nevermind. I'm sure you're happy.

Did some packing last nite, thank goodness. I just wanted to feel like something got accomplished, and I did, so yay.

God,  I have a lot of stuff.

That's it. K bye.

Well, I just had an interesting hour or so.

I went to see the ergonomics dude about getting me a new chair b/c I fall out of this one.

I actually 'test drove' chairs. Like 10 of them.

I got myself a cushioned, contoured chair with a high back, lumbar support, swiveling arm rests that lift, a foot rest, and in a wonderful hemlock color. Yes, I got to pick my own color. And fabric texture. Also picked up a new keyboard tray with wrist pad and mouse area with wrist pad. Even got one of those document/ book holders in a color that matched the keyboard tray, and another foot rest for the floor.

This. place. rocks.

Also talked to the ergo dude for a while. He's from Elwood. Lived in Cincinnati. Graduated from Purdue in 87 after a tour of duty in the Air Force. Lived out in Pemberly Courts-- the people who own our duplex-- for ten years, lived on Chauncey as an undergrad. We talked about that shooting in Wiley my senior year. Just a nice chat. Good times.

I WANT IT TO BE 5:00 DAMMIT!

Oh, and I'm more special needs than I thought. I requested a half day on the 23rd so we could drive to Michigan and be up there b/c I thought we had the 24th and 25th off.

Yeah, not so much. Have the 25th and 26th off. Duh.

It made sense at the time...

So I fixed it. Now have the 24th off. Yay. I'm special.

K bye.
